A magnificent screenplay writer and actor Shiv Kumar Subramaniam passed away on 10th April in Mumbai. The actual cause of his death is not known yet. His final cremation rites took place on April 11th, 2022 at Mumbai’s Amboli crematorium.
Shiv Kumar Subramaniam was born on 23rd December 1959, and died on 10th April 2022, at the age of 62. He studied at AISSMS Shri Shivaji Preparatory Military School, Pune from 1967 to 1976. Pursued his graduation with BA in English Literature from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai from the year 1977 to 1980. During his schooling, he was also the editor of his own school’s newspaper. That flair for artistic and creative writing was with him since childhood itself.
His first piece of masterwork was as an actor and screenwriter assistant in the Hindi movie Parinda in 1989, he acted in the role of Francis in it. He acted in famous movies like 1942: A Love Story, Kaminey, Stanley Ka Dabba, 2 States, That Girl in Yellow Boots, and Hichki. The famous screenplays written by him are 1942: A Love Story, Arjun Pandit, Chameli, and Hazaro Khawishesh Aisi. He was also honored with Filmfare Award for his screenplay for the movie Parinda in 1989.
He also did a famous TV Serial on the colors channel named Mukti Bandhan, playing the leading role of Ishwarlal Motilal Virani, for which he gained immense popularity.
The tragic part of it is that he just lost his young son of 16 years old two months back, Jehan passed away due to a brain tumor.
