The Indian Premier League which is men’s Twenty20 cricket league, contested by ten teams based out of ten cities of India began its journey for the year 2022 from 26th March, So far 20 games have already been played between different teams and they have been positioned in the points table firstly based on their points, then number of victory followed by net run rate (NRR).
The topper in this points table is Rajasthan Royals with 6 points. They had good NRR throughout and now it is .951. They won three games out of four played and after winning the last game against Lucknow Super Giants on 10th April, they secured the 1st position.
The No. 2 position is occupied by Kolkata Night Riders. Out of five games played they won three games. The last game was against Delhi Capitals on 10th April which they lost. Even they secured 6 points but with a lesser NNR of .446, they are in 2nd position
Gujarat Titans are in 3rd position. They have won all the three games that they have played until now which means this team is undefeated so far. They have 6 points and a .349 of NRR.
Royal Challengers Bangalore have come up to 4th position in the points table. They have lost one game out of the four played and also have 6 points. They have NRR .294. Their last game was against Mumbai Indians on 9th April, which they won.
Lucknow Super Gaints, after being defeated by Rajasthan Royals in the last match on 10th April are in 5th position. They played five games in total and won three. They have 6 points and net run rate of .174
Delhi Capitals are in the middle of the table with a 6th position. They have won two games out of four played and the last game was against Kolkata knight riders on 10th April which they won. They have 4 points and a .476 of NRR.
Punjab Kings can also be considered to be in the middle position of the table securing 7th place. Out of four games played they won two. The last game was against Gujarat Titans which they lost on 8th April. They have 4 points and .152 NRR.
In the 8th position are the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Out of three games played they have finally won the last match against Chennai Super Kings on 9th April. They have 2 points with a negative net run rate.
Mumbai Indians are at the 9th position. This team has lost all the four games played, so they have 0 points and a NRR.
Chennai Super Kings are in the same status as Mumbai Indians with 0 points and negative net run rate. They are at the bottom most position of the table. Even this team was defeated in all the four games they played so far.
Though the IPL games are turning out to be quite thrilling, the 15th edition of the IPL is seeing a massive viewership drop of 33% as per latest broadcast audience research council. The first eight matches had TV rating of 2.52 compared to 3.75 it had the last season. Only 2 matches that is the opening match, KKR vs CSK and RCB vs PK crossed 100 million views while last year 4 matches crossed 100 million views in the first week.
