Akasa Air backed by ace investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, on Monday tweeted a picture of its first aircraft.
Akasa Air is the India’s newbie in the airline industry and according to Vinay Dube, the airline’s CEO, Akasa Air will begin its commercial operations in July. Apart from Dube and Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, the former chief of Indigo, Aditya Ghoshis also backing this airline.
Akasa Air tweeted three photos of its aircraft with captions – “Coming soon to Your Sky!” “Can’ keep calm!” “Say hi to our QP-pie! What do YAA think?”
Akasa Air also mentioned in its Twitter post that they are “Quite Proud” to announce their airline code – QP, which was received last week
The airline received its NOC in August 2021from the Civil Aviation Ministry followed by which the company unveiled its brand logo, “The Rising-A” in December. The carrier said in a tweet that the inspiration behind this logo is the ‘elements of the sky’. The rising A symbolizes warmth of the sun, effortless flight of a bird and dependability of an aircraft wing. The company promises cheapest airfare in the country with the slogan ‘It’s your sky’ and its logo has a mixture of sunrise orange and passionate purple reflecting the airlines warmth and youthful nature. In November 2021 the airline signed a deal with Boeing to purchase 72 Max planes. By 2025 the airline has a target to fly approximately 70 planes.
