Babies are the most wonderful gift, their toothless smiles and innocent cooing is utter bliss for any parent. However parenting can often turn from bliss to strain because of the kind of expense gets involved in nourishing a baby and the most expensive yet unavoidable item for an infant are diapers. A new born baby require frequent diaper change adding up to almost 8-10 diapers daily and diapers are no way low priced.
K.I.N.D or Kids In Need Of Diapers Day was founded to extend help to the families who are struggling with the costs of diapers and related items for their babies. This day tries to raise an awareness for people to help these families and to ensure these children get what they need.
History Of K.I.N.D. Day
For a baby to be hygienic and have a pleasant day with no irritability, diapers are very essential. Staying in wet soiled diapers can result in rashes and irritability. Realising this need, in 2013, the founder of Berries & Caterpillars, Candace M. Smith established K.I.N.D Day to help out struggling families in her local Orlando, Florida community. As soon as news of this generosity spread out, thousands of families came forward to help families in need.
Even diaper rash resulting from continuous wear of wet diapersdoesn’t heal immediately. The rashes are painful and can be chronic, causing babies to have a difficult time and
K.I.N.D. Day is a great step to ease the problem faced by majority of new parents. For parents who have difficulty in managing household expenses, they often fall short to buy diapers for their children. Ointments and creams treating the diaper rashes are even more costly
K.I.N.D. Day is an opportunity to support such a family with baby by providing them diapers and related items.
How to Celebrate K.I.N.D. Day
Some of these ideas can be adapted for observing Kids In Need of Diapers Day:
1. Give away some Diapers packets, wipes and rash ointments to the Families in need.
2. Hosting a community of people to work together is also a great way. Begin a K.I.N.D. Day diaper drive in the local area with the help of this community. Collect baby related items in groups and the
collected items can be donated to a local shelter, a family support network, food bank, pregnancy centre or other charitable group that helps support moms & dads who have babies.
2. Baby-Themed Party can be organised and guests can be asked to bring packages of diapers as an entry fee for the party. This will be a fun celebration. Followed by which the total collection can be donated.
K.I.N.D. Day is a great chance to be the reason of a healthy smile of a baby. Give help to ensure that all the babies in the world have clean and healthy bottoms.
