Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran, officially launched its much-awaited super app TATA NEU on Thursday, 7TH April. This app would challenge the preexisting super apps to a great extent. Here it is important to know what is a super app? An app is referred to as super app when it offers multiple services. For example, payments, shopping, food ordering, ticket booking, cab services etc. In short it is one stop solution for every need. A physical world comparison of a super app would be a mall, which allows shopping of multiple items covering various brands.
The TATA NEU app was so far only restricted to TATA group employees but now it is accessible to everyone from Google Play Store. All digital services and apps of TATA group are compiled together in a single platform to build this TATA Neu app. The app would provide services like payments, finance managements like insurance and loan through TATA AIG and TATA Cliq, planning holiday, booking hotels through IHCL, food deliveries through Qmin, booking flight in TATA owned airline like air Asia, ordering groceries from big basket, medicine from TATA 1mg, apparel from Westside, Biba, levis and electronics from Croma, Tata Play. Also Vistara, Air India, Titan, Tanishq, Tata Motors, Tata AIA are soon to join this platform. The app operation is extremely smooth and provides lucrative offers to its customers. A concept of neu coins is also introduced where any purchase in this app would be rewarded with neu coins that can be redeemable only in the services provided through this app.
Since, smart phones and internet are now available to majority of the Indian population, Indian companies are getting interested to bring up super apps. This superapp would also record the user consumption behavior that would in turn help the companies to provide items related to the particular user’s demand in the search engine. While announcing the launch, Chandrasekaran via his LinkedIn post said, “Tata Neu is an exciting platform that gathers all our brands into one powerful app. Combining our traditional consumer-first approach with the modern ethos of technology, it is an all-new way to discover the wonderful world of Tata. Our aim is to make the lives of Indian consumers simpler and easier.
