The oldest saying is now almost losing it’s importance and significance, especially for the entire youth. Because of irregular sleep routines and patterns, every 3rd person has become like an owl. The reason being, over-stressing, smartphones, and of course our food habits. Using excess smartphones throughout the entire day, especially at the night, makes our eyes tired but our brains super active, so it is highly recommended to stop using smartphones an hour before going to sleep.

And below are the list of some types of food which should avoided at night time to get a good night’s sleep.

Avoid Sugary Treats

Sweets are the most found weakness in each one of us, but we should always avoid sugary treats at night, because it’s a treat to our taste-buds but hurt our sleep. Sugar boosts our energy levels and hampers our sleep. You should avoid, ice cream, sweets, cakes pastries or any other dessert at night just before going to bed.

Avoid Citrus Food

Try and avoid citrus food at night such as lemons, oranges or grapefruits, because it contains tyramine,which is a type of amino acid that enhances mental stimulation and boosts energy levels and that is how it keeps us awake at night, harms our sleep or delays our sleep.

Avoid Caffeine

You should avoid caffeinated drinks at night like coffee, tea, etc, because through many research it has been proved that, caffeine should be avoided for at least four to six hours before bedtime, as this is how long it takes the body to metabolize half of the total caffeine consumption.

Avoid Cheese and Cheesy Foods

This is a big alter to all the pizza and pasta lovers, cheese should be avoided at night because it one of the worst foods to eat before bed. It also contains tyramine, type of amino acid present in it, which has some negative effects associated with it like – indigestion, nightmares and insomnia.

Above were a list of food items to be avoided to have a good night’s sleep, and sleeping well makes a person feel fresh and energetic throughout the day. So eat healthy, stay wealthy and sleep tight.
